There is a long-standing tradition of use for digestive aids, also known as digestifs when tinctured in alcohol, including digestive bitters. Stimulating the digestive system prior to eating ensures optimum digestion occurs. The digestive process begins in the mouth, when the taste buds stimulate saliva to release enzymes. As such, cultures around the world have traditionally used bitter flavours to stimulate the digestive system.
Digestifs have a long history of safe use in applications which include settling an upset stomach, calming a hangover and gently supporting the liver. This tincture has been created using a well-researched blend of Soil Association certified organic ingredients, including honey, marshmallow root, meadowsweet, peppermint, fennel, angelica, and gentain root.
All of Viridian’s tinctures are grown, produced and bottled on an organic farm in England. The plants are all grown from hand-sown seeds in spring, and then hand-picked at the end of summer as part of a slow and delicate process that preserves the integrity of each plant.
Our range of tinctures have all been certified organic by the Soil Association – better for the planet, better for you. This botanical food supplement is best taken by mixing into cold drinks or adding to hot water.
